PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS EXPLAINED:

Contrary to the rumors out there... YOU DO NOT NEED A PASSPORT TO CROSS THE BORDER BY LAND!!

Sports Teams traveling by land only require athletes aged 19 and younger to provide a BIRTH CERTIFICATE and:

The group should be prepared to present a letter on organizational letterhead with the following information:

  • The name of the group and supervising adult;
  • A list of the children on the trip, and the primary address, phone number, date of birth, place of birth, and name of at least one parent or legal guardian for each child; and
  • A written and signed statement of the supervising adult certifying that he or she has obtained parental or legal guardian consent for each participating child.

Furthermore, the ICA is working closely with The
Canada Border Services Agency to help Americans traveling to our event have a hassle-free border experience.  The Canadian border will not only know about the Sea to Sky Cheerleading Championship, they will be expecting your arrival.  All measures are being taken to ensure that a trip to Vancouver is convenient and easy. 
The Canada Border Services Agency working with the International Events & Convention Services Program ensures the ICA that we will be working together to make this happen.

MOST COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
 
1.   What is the schedule for the weekend?
  • Friday, April 9th  - Teams arrive in Vancouver
  • Coaches Boat Cruise Reception and Information Meeting. Boarding begins at 7:30pm
  • Team Competition Saturday, April 10th – 50% of final score from today
  • Team Competition Sunday, April 11th  – The other 50% of final score comes from today
  • Sunday - Award Ceremonies are scheduled throughout the day
 
2.      Which hotel should we stay at? With CSTT overseeing your hotel bookings, simply choose a hotel based on your budget and how close you want to be to the competition venue.  CSTT will guide you through the rest of the booking process and make everything easy for you.
 
3.      What if the hotel we want gets filled up? Rooms will be allocated on a first come basis. Take a look at all the Host Hotels for the Sea to Sky Event or contact CSTT Management by calling them Toll Free at 1-866-861-TEAM (8326)  CSTT and ask for Contact: Amber Lee
 
4.      I have parents who would like to come to the Championship. How should they book a room? CSTT Management will provide your team/club a User Name and Password that you can advertise to help make your job easier.  Your parents and families will get the lower rate and can then book online directly with CSTT and eliminate YOU from the picture.  This will make your job easier.
 
5.      What do the 2 Coaches per team that attend for free pay?      2 Coaches per team do NOT have to pay the $75 registration fee. Additional coaching staff needs to register using the regular calculation fees.  Event Bracelets will not be handed out and Coaches without bracelets will NOT be permitted in the warm up room or on the Boat Cruise.
 
 
6.      When and where will registration take place? On Friday, April 9th, Coaches will set sail on the largest boat that Vancouver has available for groups to charter. The Britannia Boat will set sail at 7:30pm from the #1 Foot of Denman Street where the Bay shore hotel meets Stanley Park. The Cruise will last 2 hours and will include celebration drinks and appetizers. Coaches will need to bring along their teams’ Waiver/Participation Forms and will also pick up their team’s participation gifts at this time. The Cruise will sail along the beautiful Vancouver Harbor and Skyline to officially LAUNCH the Sea to Sky Championships.  If you cannot make this event, Jeanette will be available on Saturday morning to Register the Coaches and Teams remaining.
 
10.How much will admission be for non-participants? The cost to attend the Sea to Sky Championships will be $15 for one-day  or $25 for a two-day ticket. Seniors and Children 8 and younger pay 50% of Regular listed prices.  There are ATM Machines in the Convention Hall Lobby.
 
11. Can we pay our fees via Credit Card? The answer to this is YES. However, for teams using a credit card, there will be a 2% surcharge. If you would like to use a credit card, please call the office so that we can set you up and collect all necessary information. The ICA’s preferred method of payment is cashier cheques or Money Orders. Make ALL payments payable to The International Cheer Alliance.
